Volatile Medicaments (1884)

Continuous inhalation of a volatile medicament by means of an apparatus worn over the nose and a so called "respirator" is by no means novel idea but the cost and clumsiness of most the appliances devised for the purpose have recently prevented this method of treatment from being carried out upon a sufficiently extended scale to afford a reliable test of its efficiency.
